Job Overview

The International Freight Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end management of air, ocean, and road freight services for DHL Senegal’s multinational client portfolio. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will oversee the planning, execution, and performance monitoring of international shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, cost efficiency, and high service standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient international freight routing strategies to optimize transit times and costs.
• Manage relationships with airline, ocean carrier, and customs partners to ensure seamless cargo movement.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, cost per shipment, and customer satisfaction, and generate regular performance reports.
• Lead a team of freight coordinators, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development plans.
• Ensure compliance with Senegalese customs regulations, international trade laws, and DHL’s internal policies.
• Collaborate with sales and account management to develop customized logistics solutions for key accounts.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data analytics and process optimization tools.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs clearance, and multimodal transport.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management).
• Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Fluency in French and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified International Freight Forwarder (CIFF) or a Master’s degree are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of progressive experience in international freight operations, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience within a global logistics provider or multinational corporation is preferred.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other incentives.
