Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Nestlé Senegal’s quality assurance initiatives at the Ziguinchor plant, ensuring that all products comply with internal specifications, national regulations, and international food safety standards such as ISO 22000 and HACCP. Reporting directly to the Regional Quality Director, the role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration with production, R&D, and supply chain departments. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with ISO 22000, HACCP, and local regulatory requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified, tracked, and resolved promptly.
• Supervise a team of quality technicians and analysts, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with production managers to design and enforce preventive controls that minimize product variability and waste.
• Analyze quality data trends, generate actionable insights, and present findings to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee supplier qualification and monitoring programs, ensuring raw material quality meets Nestlé’s stringent standards.
• Manage product release procedures, ensuring all batches meet safety and quality criteria before distribution.
• Coordinate with regulatory affairs to stay updated on changes in Senegalese food legislation and ensure compliance.
• Champion a culture of food safety and quality across the plant through training, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.

Required Skills

• In‑depth knowledge of food safety standards (ISO 22000, HACCP, GFSI) and Senegalese regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in statistical tools such as Minitab or SPSS.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
• Effective communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal.
• Proven project management experience, capable of handling multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on root‑cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Familiarity with ERP and quality management software (e.g., SAP QM, QMS).

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry. Prior experience managing a multidisciplinary team and leading audit programs is essential.
