Job Overview
The Network Planning Engineer will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and expanding Expresso Telecom’s radio access network (RAN) across the Kolda region and beyond. The role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, including radio frequency (RF) engineers, project managers, and field deployment crews, to ensure that network roll‑outs meet performance targets, regulatory standards, and customer expectations. You will leverage advanced planning tools, conduct site surveys, and analyze traffic data to develop cost‑effective solutions that enhance coverage, capacity, and quality of service. This position plays a critical part in supporting Expresso Telecom’s mission to provide seamless connectivity for all Senegal Jobs seekers and to maintain its competitive edge in the telecommunications sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed network design and capacity plans for 4G/5G deployments in Kolda and surrounding areas.
- Perform RF propagation analysis, site selection, and feasibility studies using industry‑standard tools.
- Collaborate with civil engineering and construction teams to ensure timely and compliant site acquisition.
- Optimize existing network parameters to improve coverage, throughput, and user experience.
- Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, and project timelines for senior management review.
- Monitor network performance post‑deployment and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Stay updated on emerging telecom technologies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in network planning software such as Atoll, Planet, or Mentum.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex RF data and traffic patterns.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Project management fundamentals and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of Senegalese telecom regulations and spectrum allocation policies.
- Fluency in French and English; local languages are a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in RF planning or network optimization are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in telecom network planning, preferably with exposure to 4G LTE and emerging 5G technologies. Experience working in West African markets or similar emerging economies will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 1,200,000 to 1,800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the total rewards structure.
