Job Overview

The International Freight Operations Manager will oversee end‑to‑end freight activities for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, optimizing routing and cost efficiency, and maintaining high service standards for our diverse client portfolio. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the manager will coordinate with customs brokers, shipping lines, airlines, trucking partners and internal departments such as sales, finance and IT to deliver seamless logistics solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution and monitoring of international freight shipments, ensuring on‑time delivery and cost control.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, customs authorities and third‑party logistics providers to secure optimal rates and service levels.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that align with global compliance standards and local regulations.
  • Analyze performance metrics, generate reports and propose continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to design customized logistics solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and verification of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin and customs declarations.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs clearance processes and international trade compliance.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., CargoWise, SAP TM) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret data and drive data‑based decisions.
  • Leadership experience in managing cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and French; additional languages are a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business or a related discipline is required. Candidates holding a Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified International Freight Forwarder (CIFF) or APICS CPIM will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in international freight forwarding, multimodal transport or supply chain operations, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience within West African markets, particularly Senegal, is highly desirable.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 SSP to 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. A performance‑based bonus structure and comprehensive benefits are included.
