Job Overview:Our mission is to improve the livelihoods of people dependent on fisheries and aquaculture. We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sustainable Aquaculture Development Manager to lead our aquaculture development program in Senegal. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable aquaculture projects that improve the livelihoods of small-scale fish farmers and contribute to the development of the aquaculture sector in Senegal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainable aquaculture projects that improve the livelihoods of small-scale fish farmers
  • Work with government agencies, private sector, and local communities to develop and implement policies and programs that support sustainable aquaculture development
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for sustainable aquaculture development and develop strategies to address challenges
  • Provide technical assistance and training to small-scale fish farmers and other stakeholders to improve their skills and knowledge in sustainable aquaculture practices
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of sustainable aquaculture projects and programs and make recommendations for improvement

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Aquaculture or related field
  • 8-12 years of experience in aquaculture development, research, or related field
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing sustainable aquaculture projects that improve the livelihoods of small-scale fish farmers
  • Strong understanding of sustainable aquaculture practices and policies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build partnerships with government agencies, private sector, and local communities
