Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and monitoring the financial aspects of TotalEnergies’ renewable projects in Senegal and the broader West African market. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will collaborate with project developers, legal teams, and external investors to ensure robust financial models, risk assessments, and compliance with both corporate and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models for solar, wind, and hybrid projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams, and tax incentives.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess project viability under varying market conditions and policy frameworks.
- Prepare investment memoranda, pitch decks, and due‑diligence reports for internal stakeholders and external financiers.
- Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Senegalese energy laws, financing agreements, and ESG standards.
- Monitor project performance post‑financial close, tracking cash flows, debt service, and key financial ratios.
- Support the negotiation of financing structures, including debt, equity, and blended finance solutions.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team to evaluate new project opportunities and pipeline growth.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on financial risks, mitigation strategies, and portfolio performance.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel, VBA, and financial software (e.g., Bloomberg, PowerBI).
- Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and project financing mechanisms.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Fluency in English; French proficiency is highly desirable.
Education
A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or FRM are considered a strong advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or corporate finance, with at least two (2) years focused on renewable energy projects. Prior exposure to West African markets or emerging economies is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 4,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
