Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze soil, weather, and crop data using GIS and remote sensing tools
- Develop predictive models for crop yield optimization and pest risk assessment
- Collaborate with local farmers to implement data-driven irrigation and fertilization strategies
- Generate actionable insights through dashboards and reports for stakeholders
- Conduct field trials to validate analytical models and improve algorithm accuracy
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis
- Experience with agricultural data platforms (e.g., FarmBeats, John Deere Operations Center)
- Strong understanding of Senegal’s agro-ecological zones and farming practices
- Excellent communication skills for cross-cultural collaboration
- Ability to work in remote field conditions with limited infrastructure
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Science, or Data Science. Advanced degrees in Climate Science or Geospatial Analysis preferred.
Experience
3-5 years in agricultural data analysis, remote sensing, or precision farming technologies. Experience in West African agricultural contexts is a significant advantage.
Salary
350,000 – 450,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
