Job Overview

The Geoscientist will join Shell’s Exploration & Production department in Louga, playing a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating hydrocarbon prospects across Senegal’s onshore basins. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to delineate structural and stratigraphic features.
• Develop and update geological and reservoir models using industry‑standard software.
• Collaborate with petrophysicists, engineers, and drilling teams to assess prospect viability.
• Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct field work, including outcrop analysis and data acquisition, when required.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout all activities.
• Contribute to the development of exploration strategies and risk assessments.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and support knowledge‑sharing initiatives within the department.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of basin analysis, structural geology, and stratigraphy.
• Ability to integrate geological data with petrophysical and engineering inputs.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; French is an advantage.
• Experience with GIS and 3D modeling tools.

Education

A Master’s degree in Geosciences, Earth Sciences, Petroleum Geology, or a closely related field is required.
