Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Heritage Preservation Specialist to join our team in Thiès, Senegal. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital preservation strategies for cultural heritage institutions in Senegal.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital preservation, cultural heritage, and project management. They will be responsible for working with cultural heritage institutions to assess their digital preservation needs, developing digital preservation plans, and implementing digital preservation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital preservation strategies for cultural heritage institutions in Senegal
• Conduct needs assessments and develop digital preservation plans for cultural heritage institutions
• Implement digital preservation solutions, including digitization, metadata creation, and digital storage
• Provide training and technical assistance to cultural heritage institutions on digital preservation best practices
• Collaborate with other stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organizations, to promote digital preservation in Senegal

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as digital preservation, cultural heritage, or information technology
• At least 5 years of experience in digital preservation, cultural heritage, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of digital preservation principles, practices, and technologies
• Experience with project management, including planning, budgeting, and implementation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
