Job Overview

We are seeking a visionary Blockchain Solutions Architect to design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade blockchain solutions for our clients across Senegal and West Africa. This role is central to our mission of leveraging distributed ledger technology to solve complex business challenges in sectors such as finance, agriculture, mining, and public administration. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to understand their business needs, architect tailored blockchain systems, and lead technical teams through the implementation lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements to assess business requirements and identify blockchain use cases with high potential for value creation and return on investment.
  • Design end-to-end blockchain architecture, including network topology, consensus mechanisms, smart contract frameworks, and integration points with existing enterprise systems.
  • Develop technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps for permissioned and permissionless blockchain networks.
  • Provide expert guidance on blockchain platform selection, considering factors such as scalability, security, compliance, and interoperability.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) using languages such as Go, JavaScript, or Solidity.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement robust security protocols, cryptographic standards, and identity management solutions for blockchain networks.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept demonstrations and pilot projects to validate technical feasibility and business benefits for stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train junior developers and engineers on blockchain principles, development tools, and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulatory developments, and advancements in blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi).
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, whitepapers, and case studies to clients, partners, and at industry conferences.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in blockchain architecture, distributed ledger technology, and consensus algorithms (e.g., Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance, Proof of Authority).
  • Proficiency with blockchain development platforms, particularly IBM Blockchain Platform and Hyperledger Fabric, and familiarity with Ethereum, Corda, or other frameworks.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages: Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Solidity for smart contract development.
  • Deep understanding of cryptographic principles, including hash functions, digital signatures, and public-key infrastructure (PKI).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying blockchain networks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to translate complex business processes into technical blockchain solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Project management capabilities, with experience using Agile or Scrum methodologies to deliver technology projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations, financial compliance standards, and their implications for blockchain implementations.

Education

A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Certifications in blockchain technology (e.g., IBM Blockchain Foundation Developer, Certified Blockchain Solution Architect) are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage. Additional training in cryptography, distributed systems, or financial technology is preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience in software architecture, systems design, or enterprise solution development, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience specifically in designing and implementing blockchain solutions. Proven track record of leading successful blockchain projects from conception to production, preferably in a consulting or client-serving role. Experience in the financial services, supply chain, or digital identity sectors is highly advantageous. Prior work in a multicultural environment and within the West African region will be favorably considered.
