Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Supply Chain Digital Transformation Manager to lead our digital innovation initiatives in southern Senegal. This pivotal role will drive the implementation of cutting-edge digital solutions across our agricultural supply chain operations, transforming how we engage with farmers, manage logistics, and ensure product quality and traceability. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing digital transformation strategies that enhance efficiency, transparency, and sustainability across our value chain.
The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in agricultural supply chains with strong digital technology knowledge, particularly in areas such as IoT, blockchain, data analytics, and mobile platforms. You will work closely with farmers, field teams, technology partners, and senior management to identify digital opportunities, develop implementation plans, and measure impact. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital transformation roadmap for agricultural supply chain operations in the Kolda region
- Lead the deployment of digital tools and platforms for farmer engagement, including mobile applications and SMS-based services
- Implement IoT solutions for real-time monitoring of crop conditions, storage facilities, and transportation
- Design and manage blockchain-based traceability systems for end-to-end supply chain transparency
- Collaborate with technology partners to customize and integrate digital solutions specific to Senegal’s agricultural context
- Train and support field staff and farmers in adopting digital tools and technologies
- Analyze supply chain data to identify optimization opportunities and drive continuous improvement
- Develop digital literacy programs for smallholder farmers and local communities
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to digital transformation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and cybersecurity best practices
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of agricultural supply chain management and digital transformation methodologies
- Strong understanding of IoT, blockchain, mobile technologies, and data analytics applications in agriculture
- Excellent project management skills with experience leading complex digital implementation projects
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders including farmers, technology providers, and government agencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with data-driven decision-making approach
- Excellent communication and training skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Fluency in French and working knowledge of local languages (particularly Pulaar)
- Experience working in rural agricultural contexts in West Africa
- Strong change management and stakeholder engagement skills
Education
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agricultural Economics, Information Technology, or related field. Additional certifications in digital transformation, project management, or agricultural technology are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate continuous learning in emerging technologies and their application in agricultural contexts.
Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in agricultural supply chain management with at least 5 years focused on digital transformation initiatives. Proven track record of successfully implementing digital solutions in agricultural contexts, preferably in West Africa. Experience working with smallholder farmers and understanding of Senegal’s agricultural landscape is essential. Previous experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with international technology partners is required.
