Job Overview
The Offshore Renewable Energy Policy Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting Senegal’s development of comprehensive offshore renewable energy policies and regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy frameworks for offshore wind and marine energy development in Senegal
- Provide technical advice to government agencies on renewable energy policy design and implementation
- Conduct stakeholder consultations with private sector companies, communities, and environmental groups
- Analyze international best practices in offshore renewable energy policy and adapt them to the Senegalese context
- Support the development of regulatory frameworks for project licensing, environmental impact assessments, and grid integration
- Facilit capacity building workshops and training programs for government officials and local stakeholders
- Coordinate with international partners and donors to secure funding for policy development and implementation
- Monitor and evaluate policy implementation and recommend adjustments based on performance and changing circumstances
- Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations for government decision-makers and international partners
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of renewable energy policy and regulatory frameworks
- Strong understanding of offshore wind and marine energy technologies and markets

Education

Experience
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in energy policy development, renewable energy project advisory, or government relations. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or consulting firms on energy policy matters. Proven track record in developing and implementing renewable energy policies, preferably in African contexts. Experience in offshore renewable energy projects or marine policy is highly advantageous.
