Job Overview
As a Geotechnical Risk Assessment Engineer, you will play a critical role in evaluating subsurface conditions and potential hazards for BHP’s mining operations in Ziguinchor. This position requires expertise in geotechnical modeling, slope stability analysis, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure safe and efficient mineral extraction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and subsurface risk assessments for mining sites.
- Design and implement slope stability and ground movement monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geotechnical data into mining plans.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for regulatory compliance and project stakeholders.
- Lead site inspections and field data collection for geotechnical analysis.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., Rocscience, Slide, GeoStudio).
- Experience in mining geotechnics, including rock mass characterization and numerical modeling.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting geological and geotechnical data.

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.

Salary
