Job Overview
The International Freight Forwarding Coordinator will manage the seamless movement of goods across borders, ensuring compliance with international regulations and optimizing cost‑effective routes. This role acts as a critical liaison between shippers, carriers, customs authorities, and internal teams. The coordinator will utilize Bolloré’s advanced logistics platform to track shipments, resolve issues, and provide real‑time updates to customers. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international shipments by selecting appropriate carriers, modes, and routes.
- Prepare and verify all export/import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Monitor shipment status using Bolloré’s digital tracking system and proactively address delays or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with customs brokers and local authorities to ensure compliance with Senegalese and international regulations.
- Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with carriers to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Provide customers with accurate quotations, transit times, and status reports.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, invoices, and performance metrics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing logistics data and recommending process enhancements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international trade regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency with logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Fluency in French and English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as FIATA, IATA, or a Certified International Freight Forwarder (CIF) designation are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants must have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in international freight forwarding, preferably within a multimodal logistics environment. Experience handling shipments to and from West Africa will be highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 1,200,000 to 1,800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be offered.
