Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Museum Collections Curator to join our team in Fatick, Senegal. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of digital strategies for the management and preservation of museum collections.
The Digital Museum Collections Curator will work closely with the museum’s curatorial team to develop and implement digital projects that enhance the accessibility and engagement of museum collections. This will include the development of digital exhibitions, online collections, and other digital initiatives that promote the museum’s collections and engage audiences.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in museum collections management, digital preservation, and cultural heritage. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital strategies for the management and preservation of museum collections
- Work closely with the curatorial team to develop and implement digital projects that enhance the accessibility and engagement of museum collections
- Develop and manage digital exhibitions, online collections, and other digital initiatives that promote the museum’s collections and engage audiences
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the effective integration of digital initiatives into the museum’s overall strategy
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to advance the museum’s digital agenda
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Museum Studies, Cultural Heritage, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in museum collections management, digital preservation, or a related field
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong knowledge of digital technologies and their application in museum collections management
