Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Digital Forensic Investigator to join our elite Incident Response team in Kédougou. This role is central to our mission of stopping breaches and providing expert analysis following cybersecurity incidents. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth forensic examinations of digital evidence from various endpoints, networks, and cloud environments to determine the scope, impact, and root cause of security breaches. You will work on complex cases involving advanced persistent threats (APTs), ransomware, insider threats, and data exfiltration. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic acquisition and analysis of data from computers, mobile devices, servers, and network logs.
  • Investigate cybersecurity incidents to identify malicious activity, data breaches, and policy violations.
  • Preserve the chain of custody for digital evidence and maintain detailed documentation for legal proceedings.
  • Utilize forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Volatility, SIFT) to analyze memory, disk images, and file systems.
  • Develop and present comprehensive forensic reports detailing findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with incident responders, threat hunters, and intelligence analysts to correlate findings and build a complete incident timeline.
  • Testify as an expert witness in legal or administrative proceedings, when required.
  • Stay current with the latest forensic techniques, attack methodologies, and anti-forensic tools.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of forensic processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Skills

  • Expertise in digital forensic investigation methodologies and tools for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Proficiency in memory forensics, network forensics, and cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) forensic analysis.
  • Strong understanding of file systems, operating system internals, and network protocols.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating forensic tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure during critical incident response engagements.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client briefings.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to digital evidence and data privacy.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Information Technology, or a related technical field is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (such as GCFA, GNFA, CFCE, EnCE) are highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage for candidates applying for this job vacancy in Senegal.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in digital forensics, incident response, or a related cybersecurity field is required.
