Job Overview
The Audit Manager – Financial Services will lead audit engagements for banking, insurance and other financial institutions, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and local regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Audit Director, the manager will oversee a team of senior auditors and associates, coordinate fieldwork, review financial statements, and communicate findings to senior client stakeholders. This role is pivotal in delivering high‑quality audit services that enhance client confidence, mitigate risk, and support the strategic objectives of both EY and its clients. The position offers exposure to a broad range of financial products, complex transactions and emerging technologies such as fintech platforms, providing a dynamic environment for professional growth. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute and supervise audit engagements for financial services clients, ensuring adherence to EY methodology and timelines.
- Lead risk assessment workshops, identify material risks, and develop audit strategies that address regulatory and business concerns.
- Review and evaluate financial statements, internal controls, and compliance with IFRS, GAAP and local banking regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, present findings to senior client management, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Manage and develop audit teams, providing coaching, performance feedback and technical guidance.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies affecting the financial sector.
- Collaborate with EY’s advisory and tax teams to deliver integrated solutions that add value for clients.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on financial data integrity.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in audit software (EY Canvas, CaseWare) and advanced Excel modeling.
- Deep understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, and local banking regulations.
- Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary audit teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing client needs.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CA or CFA are highly preferred and demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of the profession.
Experience
Minimum of five years of progressive audit experience within a Big Four firm or a reputable local audit practice, with at least two years focused on financial services clients. Experience leading audit engagements, managing teams and interacting directly with senior client executives is essential.
Salary
