Job Overview
The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of production scheduling, inventory management, and material flow to ensure that Danone Senegal’s manufacturing lines operate efficiently and meet delivery commitments. Working closely with the Operations Manager, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Logistics teams, the planner will develop detailed production plans, monitor progress, and adjust schedules in response to demand fluctuations, equipment availability, and supply constraints. This role is critical for optimizing resource utilization, minimizing waste, and supporting the company’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices. The successful candidate will leverage advanced planning tools, data analytics, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement and support Danone’s strategic objectives in the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain weekly and monthly production schedules aligned with sales forecasts and inventory targets.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging components.
- Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to meet on‑time delivery goals.
- Analyze inventory levels, perform material requirement planning (MRP), and recommend safety stock adjustments.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with food safety standards and product specifications.
- Generate production performance reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and present insights to senior management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and waste reduction projects.
- Maintain accurate master data in ERP systems and ensure data integrity for planning activities.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in French and English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications such as APICS CPIM, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent are highly regarded.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in production planning, inventory control, or supply chain coordination within a food & beverage manufacturing environment. Experience with dairy or perishable product lines is advantageous.
Salary
